| 1. You know, in seasons past, they'd keep you guessing as to the story arc. |

This time they just put it right out there in Ep. 1. Harumph. I'm getting a little tired of RTD's control of the show. Time for someone new. He just recycles the same old stuff over and over.

Series 3's finale gave me a big knee-jerk moment as it's more cookie cutter pablum... and many stories are indeed the same: Modern day Earth is in danger (again) and often for the same reasons, with underlying topical opinions... with the occasional dig at fans, which isn't a very professional attitude to take but that's his choice. But I digress. Whether is keeps the story serious or camps it up is another issue, but all that drivel got boring in series 1, not to mention the diatribes I could lob at the annoying "Rose" character and all that stemmed from it...
Series 3 was a considerable upswing, all things considered, but then as I've started with series 4, it's devolving. The Sontaran two-parter was pedestrian (as usual), but the solution/ending was incredibly dim. David Tennant's performance shows he's got what it takes, but that solution/ending was beyond a cliché...

| 2. I had to wait for the Sci-Fi Channel showing last night... |

:eyes: is right. I really preferred Martha to Rose, in spite of the forced "unrequited love" storyline they stuck her with. I do like Donna, though it looks like this is going to be the "silly" season...
I am looking forward to the non-RTD stories.:D (thank heavens he doesn't write them all).

I like Rose.
I also liked the old series with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker.
