I had forgotten these were such stinkers--written, it seems, by ESL students who had only seen still photos of the TV show.

Kirk: "Enterprise carrying out exploration mission through Galaxy Alpha."

Unnamed crew member, who apparently speaks in abbreviations: "Capt. Kirk, sir--I've picked up another celestial body on the space-scope! And this one appears fertile!"

Kirk: "Attention crew! We're going to dispatch an exploration party! Make necessary preparations!"

Spock: "And they are on a rampage--out to destroy us both! Guards! Guards!"

Dang. And that's just the first two pages of the first issue!
