| 1. Man. He thinks that he has to chime in on everything. Why does anyone care what he thinks? |
|
And he'd better do something to cover up those scratches!

And the fact that I got Orrex's joke about scratches before I watched the video probably means I have to much information about Trek stored in my brain. :)

Who's the bigger geek--the geek who makes the joke or the geek who gets it?
A question for the ages!

| 6. Well, I saw the trailer sans cameo and it was easy to see why he wouldn't want to be in it. |
|
Even if he wasn't asked; they've bastardized Kirk's character from what is presented.

| 8. Presented where, exactly? |
|
As far as I can remember, he's from Iowa, and he crossed paths with Carol Marcus a few decades prior to ST:TOS. Also there's that glimpse we get in ST:Generations.
If the reworking of the character is a problem for you, then you might just be out of luck. But if you've got a bone to pick about the portrayal of Kirk's past, then I'd sincerely be interested to learn what you're using as source material.
