2. As long as the actor is good, or at least gets good scripts to act in...
David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston had Doctorish personalities. Trouble is, the stories were too often a four letter word: C R A P . Or in more words, "forced soap opera drivel lacking coherency and logic the stories claim to set up for themselves".

Indeed, when in "The Parting of the Ways", the Doctor makes a political allegory by saying TV viewers are brainless sheep, the writer of the piece didn't realize the strength of his own irony...

New Doctor is youngest ever: The BBC names actor Matt Smith, 26, as the replacement for David Tennant in Doctor.

No link to news story yet...

5. He had the second lead next to Billie Piper in The Ruby And The Smoke
I saw that film, and I think I know the character he played, but the film was so unmemorable that his face isn't even familiar. I guess he was also in an early stage production of The History Boys. Other than that, there's very little info about him out there.

6. Ever see "Neverwhere"? That's what sold me on Mr Joseph...
As long as the scripts start to resemble sci-fi again instead of some hammy, cheesy soap opera, there's hope.
