The massive amount of drugs animal flesh eaters have already digested in the past 20+ years - its abit late to say .... oh dear .... should cut back on those huge amounts of antibiotics we're pumping into the flesh we're eating....

7. Don't forget that the USDA |
|
is mostly staffed by big ranchers and farmers that supply the feed lots. Hopefully, they won't exert undue influence and throw their weight around over this issue with the FDA. They are not going to give up on this without a fight.

9. It's less about the digesting of the meat that was given anti-biotics and |
|
more about the resistances that feeding animals antibiotics (Even when they aren't needed) creates. There have been several new "miracle drug" antibiotics that came out and had massive resistance in human populations because they'd been using a drug from that class in animals the entire time they were trying to get it through the FDA for use in humans.
Often the animals are fed a steady diet of antibiotics that isn't enough to actually kill all (or even most) of the bacteria. You probably couldn't design a better method for creating AB resistant/tolerant bacteria in a lab.

I'm allergic to most major classes of antibiotics, so it's very important not to get exposed further through foods.

At this point there isn't anything enforceable.
It's more or less just a suggestion.
