anyone interested in a seed swap? i have organic squash, beans, okra and pumpkin seed |
|
most was from heirloom stock. Would love to trade with folks! I generally survive the whole dead of winter thing by obsessing over seed catalogs and checking my seed collection... then come November (WAY too early - I know) I start the seedlings..... Anyone want to start a swap? :-)

1. Good work on the seed saving. |
|
I think your work will only become more critical as the years go by. Do you have a LETS trading system working in your area?
Cheers

17. This is the Wiki reference. |
|
It will either give you the idea, or a link to another site will help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Exchange_Trading_SystemsCheers

3. Are you familiar with these guys? |

www.rareseeds.com
Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.
I sell them in my store. They have over 1400 different seeds. Heirloom stocks tended to by Amish folks in Missouri.

5. Only organic seeds I have are butternut squash |
|
I am interested in some pumpkin seed as the ones I saved to plant for last year were all vine and pretty flowers and nary a pumpkin in the mix. I am thinking I might have gotten some of those genetically altered ones that won't reproduce. So was stuck with a 20x20 area of nice vines with no results.

8. I am a seed saver, too. I would love to swap! |
|
Last few swaps were in the form of surprise swap through the mail. Loved what I got and what I sent.
I have been a seed saver for a 20 years. I am almost organized :)
Put me on your list!

9. I had horrible luck this past year |
|
The worst in twenty years. THe weather was so wacky. Keep me in mind for next year. I only grow heirloom veggies. Hopefully this coming year will be better.

12. I only have flower seeds that I've saved. For whatever reason, I have not been |
|
very successful growing food plants.
I have Heavenly Blue Morning Glory, Lavender Morning Glory (this grows wild here with a tremendous bumper crop ever seven or eight years), Scarlett Runner, and Queen Elizabeth Rose Seeds from my 25 year old hybrid rose bush. It is very hardy and doesn't take a tremendous amount of care as many rose bushes do.
Oh, and a couple of Bing Cherry Tree seeds.

16. Well, we just tore up an old and decrepit deck that covered about 400 sq ft and |
|
I'm hoping to start a garden in the spring. First I have to get the soil leveled (I had a chow many years ago and he went under the deck and dug himself some hollows) and built up with humus and fertilizer. Maybe you could advise me on how to grow edibles!
P.M. and I'll get you some lavender and blue morning glory seeds as well as some of my Queen Elizabeths. I have grown some of those bushes from seed. They are very slow growing the first year or so, but well worth the time.
