20th anniversary of CSA - community supported agriculture

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) offers a way for every human being to be directly involved in the care and healing of the earth, while also ensuring a supply of clean, healthy food for their families and their neighbors.

By now there are CSA farms across the USA, and more on the way...

It's about culture and agriculture...

And it all started on two New England farms in the spring of 1986 - 20 years ago.

Twenty years after beginning, CSA farms have blossomed across America, and now form a network of as many as 2,500 organic oases in cities, suburbs, and even in farm country. Meanwhile, developing in parallel, many thousands of CSA farms have taken root in other nations of the world.

2 small children be better off, monetarily, continuing to buying organics from the local market or joining a CSA?

3. CSA needs some innovative cooking as the weekly basket can

vary so much depending on what's ready to pick that week

it's great to get kids to try new stuff and you're always welcome to visit us in Cooking and Baking if you need some ideas for new or different preparations of vegtables

7. The answer to that will depend on the specific pricing of both...

the CSA and the local market.

8. The carbon footprint of local CSAs is less than organics as a whole,

because many organics are imported from thousands of miles away.

Local AND organic is best. Barring that, local is next best, and then organic. IMHO.
