"Whats the Matter With Kansas" |
|
I have not read it. I have seen and heard the author and I think he has some great thoughts. I am thinking of going out and getting the book. If you have read it what issues does he bring up that we could/should talk about in this group? It might be that there are some great starting off topics in there.

To its Red State status today.
Further, Kansas believes it is immune or lacks the moral lapses yet Frank shows how big corporation-style crimes have taken place in little old Kansas.
It has become a higher priority to renounce gay marriage, Liberalism, Evolution and modernity over religion and other ideals that advance Conservative wedge issues to their own detriment.
Disturbing but enlightening read.

I have to read this. This is bleeding Kansas for goodness sakes and the people here are not any different than they were then. OK, I am going to go out and get it this week. I do think this book would be a good start to some real work here.

For any Democrat trying to get elected in a rural state. I've not read it, but have seen the reviews and the excellent, albeit short, interview on the Daily Show.

It's a troubling but necessary read. My mother is reading my copy now so, I have to wait to finish it but I hope he has some suggestions to combat this epidemic of stupidity in the midwest.
