with the iPad. I am a chronic reader with aging eyes. The past few years I found reading difficult. The fonts were too small, and having to have bright light to read isn't always possible or practical. I thought of the Kindle and competitors, but settled on the iPad.
What I like about it for reading is the ability to adjust brightness and font size. Before I could only read maybe 5 minutes, no matter how engrossing the book. Now I can sit and read until my butt starts hurting, or my bladder starts complaining.
The bad: not all books I want to read are available for electronic download. I miss the feel and smell of a good book. If I drop a book I can pick it up and continue. If I drop an iPad, it might break.
So if you feel you need help with reading, go to a store that sells the iPad or Kindle to see if it improves your ability to read.
BTW, I am reading "Three Cups of Tea." I love it. What a wonderful book.
