| So.....who's into muzzleloading? |
|
Hunting with a smokepole is great fun and a terrific challenge. When you only get one shot, you gotta be damn sure when you pull the trigger. Not sayin' that I always hit my target...... I'm stocking up on supplies tomorrow, and going out Sunday with some buddies to experiment with some different loads and tweak in my front stuffer. Muzzleloader season here in Minnesota starts weekend after T-day. I can't wait!

Our season opened last week. I also hunt a neighboring state and that season opens after Thanksgiving.

should arrive next week. I figure it will take me about a year to get it ready to shoot as I'm teaching myself gunstock carving and engraving while I build the gun. Gonna be hard to be patient but I will force myself not to rush this one. Next, comes a set of dueling pistols. Hell, I'm even making my own powder horns, which, by the way, are a lot more work than they look like.
