What to do with a grouse tail? |
|
My son shot his first grouse yesterday, and I'm wondering if there's a traditional or easy way to keep the tailfeathers as a memento. Any ideas? Thanks!

I shot a Rio Grande turkey in the foothills of the S.W. Hill Country in Texas (upper Uvalde County), and when I finished plucking, I asked the land owner if she knew anyone who was interested in the feathers. She contacted someone locally who did head dresses for Native American Pow Wow celebrations (popular in Texas). That person took a bag full of tail and wing feathers.
You may wish to Google up Pow-Wow, maybe there is a link.
