Any other Democratic Hunters out there?

I sure do like to hunt, and I like to visit some web sites too that are hunting oriented. Unfortunately, they all usually have a politics section, and then I read, get pissed off, and refuse to come back.


So...anyone have some good hunting bulletin boards or forums where Democrats are welcomed?

a good hunting/gun forum, but as you noted, I would stay out of the politics section.

This group is hunter friendly but it doesn't see much traffic.

3. No, not really

I know you find it tough to believe but most of the folks there are genuine in both their love of guns and their allegiance to the Democratic Party. Do we get some trolls down there? Sure, but so does the rest of DU.

Supporting the RKBA and being a Democrat are not mutually exclusive no matter how hard the NRA and the pukes try and get folks to believe otherwise.

6. I know and understand

that there are many gun owning Democrats. I also know that groups like the NRA and the GOA are clearly right wing organizations first, and "rkba" advocates, second. I also firmly believe that DU's gun dungeon is the place you are most likely to find trolls in this website.

4. I have hunted all of my life.

And never voted republican. Saw Viggo Mortensen on Letterman Thursday night-he talked about growing up hunting with his dad. So, yeah-the woods are full of Democrats.

5. I guess this answers my question...

I have long wondered if there was a shooting organization that was at least non-political -- sort of like the NRA was back in the old (old) days. If such a creature existed, I'd join in a heartbeat. But I won't give money to the NRA as long as it is the hand-maiden of the Republican Party.

8. Not me but

my husband hunts and fishes regularly and has since childhood. He's also a very strong Democrat and environmentalist. We know a lot of guys who hunt and are liberal and pro-conservation. My husband complains that there is no organization for "lefty" hunters. He doesn't support the NRA at all because of their ties to Republicans. He tells me he thinks if there were a good gun group for Dems, it would not only be fun but it would let the public know how many hunters and fishers are environmentalists and liberals. I keep telling him to start one. :) But he's too busy.

Won't be able to go out this year. Alot of stuff going on and no time.
Mainly a deer hunter but would like to try upland bird at some point.
Big ambition is to do a back country mule deer or elk hunt.
