Hello all,
I was just wondering if anyone here has ever done a Presidential Traverse.
I have set myself the goal of doing a Presidential Traverse next year.
I'm perhaps just the other side of a novice. I do hike several times a year and have done about a half dozen 4K peaks including Mt Washington via the Huntington Trail.
But I haven't done a long hike since I was a boy scout and spent a week with the troop on the AT in VT.
So what gear I have is day hike oriented.
I plan to do this mid-summer next year.
So I have questions of course. I'm doing some reading and research elsewhere of course but I'd be very interested in feedback from others who've done this particularly on gear.
PS: This is actually a test run in a way. My son and I have a goal of doing this together when he turns 13 in a few years. I figure I should do it first myself.

A couple questions. Are you going hut to hut (easier to plan, but expensive) or are you going to attempt to bypass the huts (more difficult but doable)?
I assume you've picked up the AMC White Mountain Guide. If not pick it up. It will help immensely with your planning.
Good luck and safe hiking.
Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions.

| 2. Well my first thought was hut-to-hut but |

that is certainly not written in stone, in fact perhaps a combination would be better. Do at least one night on the trail and huts otherwise.
Yup, I have the "Guide".
and thanks
