| Has anyone been to John Kerry's Facebook page? |
|
There are an abundance of vile, perverted right wing trolls and idiots polluting his page with their hate-filled garbage, which really goes to show what hateful pathetic excuses for human beings they are. I would urge all of you on Facebook to go over to his page and show him some love -the empty vassals are truly making the most noise over there at the moment

However, I think Senator Kerry forgives these vile posters for their crude and ignorant behavior- you have to consider the source.

so it looks like there is an effort from the right. Just given the tone, they are completely obnoxious. (I liked that when one person said he would work to defeat JK, another said she would vote for him.
Clicking on some of their names, many looked to be libertarians from what was public - one was a fan of Ayn Rand (ewww)
Because it is easy to see where you are from, I thought posting useless.

| 4. Agreed, there seems to be an effort from the right |

Sadly, Brown's election seems to really have emboldened the right here in MA to attempt to unseat all of our Dem reps and JK. I can definitely see a repeat of the Brown election - enthusiasm on the right, out of state cash influx, and MA indies liking the idea of someone 'fresh'.
It's time for all of our congresspeople and Kerry to be extremely vigilant and not believe that just because the Repubs in MA haven't had a great election infrastructure up to now that they aren't working hard to make up the deficit. I'm guessing there will be a few nailbiters in November, and if voter sentiment hasn't turned around by '12, John Kerry will be fighting very hard to keep his seat.

| 5. I agree with what you said about 2010. All incumbents, especially Democrats will have tough races |
|
I would hope that there will be no representatives who are not out there fighting hard to retain their seats - and that none will take comfort in polls, after Coakley turned a 30 point lead to a 5 point loss. Even if that would not have been necessary, it will be good anyway that they have made more contact with their constituents than otherwise.
But, I do think the Republicans are in danger of over reading the victory. The fact that the early poll had Coakley 30 points ahead likely is a measure of generic Republican vs generic Democrat. Then Brown ran a smart campaign, while Coakley's may have been one of the worst ever.
I suspect that Brown might be surprised by a harder than expected race. Kerry does not have to run until 2014 - 4 years from now. By then, it is anyone's guess what the landscape will look like. But, assuming no personal problems, if John Kerry in MA is endangered, it will be because the country has become a tea party land.

| 6. I agree, and part of this is going back to the basics of campaigning. |
|
A good example last week-end with the reporting of the St Patrick's day festivities. Once again, Brown was described on TV like somebody who did not hesitate to talk to people, standing in the rain to greet people who were at the parade.
Now, it is perfectly possible that some Democratic representatives were there as well, but if they were, the media certainly ignored them.
This struck me because, in the January election, one of the reasons Brown attracted so many people is that he looked approachable, an image he is cultivating very hard. May be it is time for these guys who run in 2010 to remember that talking to regular people in other places than political rallies is part of campaigning.
(Note, Kerry does not have to run again before 2014. Brown is the one who will run in 2012).

Although, I am sure Senator Kerry, when he does run again, would never take anything for granted. The pervasiveness of ignorance in this country is just shocking. This is what brought us George Bush and I would wager what is being offered up by the Tea Party'ers and Republicans themselves will not be good for the average American.

This just makes me sick. I'm not on Facebook, but these people are lunatics.
One of the first thing I read this morning was that these kooks are trying to recall Sen. Menendez. The courts agreed to allow it, then reversed course.
One of the most disgusting things is how emboldened these despicable people have become since Brown got elected.

You are right about these people, they think they have the power to push and threaten everyone. Poor Senator Menendez what did he do to deserve a recall vote? Probably nothing more then not vote the way these Tea Party'ers wanted him to. And, you are right, they think they have won a huge victory with Brown, but they are due for a huge smack down.

There argument (which sounds like the Brown one) was that since he was elected everything changed and Christie's election shows that he no long represents NJ's views. (There was a story that he helped a bank get help under TARP, but that is actually representing your state.)

And, the Tea Party's reasoning is warped.
