John Kerry on the passing of Civil Rights Leader Dorothy Height

Have not posted an OP in over a year, but this press release was posted at the Senator's website last week and thought others might like it. Obama is going to deliver the eulogy at her funeral in DC on Thursday:

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) today released a statement on the passing of civil rights icon and former National Council of Negro Women President Dorothy Height:


“Dorothy Height was a mighty woman, noble, fierce, and loving, and today she’s reached the mountaintop. She was the First Lady of the long struggle for equality for African Americans and women. She gave her country more than seven decades of a living breathing example of just how big a difference a single life can make. She’s up there in heaven today with Dr. King, Coretta Scott King, and Rosa Parks among the warriors of justice who opened wide the gates of freedom and helped America become the better, more perfect union we are today.”
