Well earned praise for JK, but there is something that makes me a bit uneasy when a successful person in one field, acting, is taken seriously on foreign policy - even though Clooney's positions seem reasonable.

1. Clooney has been passionately involved in Sudan for years now.

He may not be an expert on all foreign policy, but I think he knows what he is talking about regarding Sudan.
And, it is good to see Senator Kerry get some credit for his hard work.

2. That's good to know - and makes me respect Clooney even more than I do

because he is an excellent actor. The op-ed is very good and I should have taken it at its own value. Nice to know that he has been involved for years - and good that he sees the good work that Kerry has done there. (Just the fact that he knows that Kerry has been the one who has led the Obama administration's effort here means he has been following this closely.)
