I personally thought he would be the one to replace Clinton as SOS. Here is a comment from Senator Kerry, "Kerry says Holbrooke was always a man on the toughest mission of "waging peace through tough as nails, never quit diplomacy." http://news.bostonherald.com/news/us_politics/view/20101213sen_john_kerry_mourns_death_of_richard_holbrooke/srvc=home&position=recent"On Capitol Hill, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry, D-Mass., called the loss of Holbrooke "almost incomprehensible," adding that his "tough-as-nails, never-quit diplomacy" saved tens of thousands of lives." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_obit_holbrooke;_ylt=Ak1I8xnV4vVPNe7KTx.7raes0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTNpdm1iYWJhBGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMTAxMjE0L3VzX29iaXRfaG9sYnJvb2tlBGNjb2RlA21vc3Rwb3B1bGFyBGNwb3MDMwRwb3MDMTAEcHQDaG9tZV9jb2tlBHNlYwN5bl90b3Bfc3RvcnkEc2xrA3VzZGlwbG9tYXRyaQ--

3. Awful, isn't it ? I think this has probably been... |
|
...a pretty tough weekend for people like Senator Kerry, and others, who knew both him and the Edwards family. :grouphug:

he was always interesting to listen to. the guy really knew the areas he was working on. it's a big loss in the area of foreign policy.

8. Very sad news, and shocking a bit, too. I was unaware of |
|
any health problems he had until this incident.
