For local viewers, the show airs in half an hour, 11 am Eastern on Channel 5. For all others, segments of JK's interview (maybe the whole thing?) here: http://www.thebostonchannel.com/politics/26914528/detail.html

about Brown overshadowing him.

4. Amazing how they asked so few questions that are relevant to people. |
|
More than 5 mn on Scott Brown, a couple on presidential Republican candidates, so half of the time was about things that do not matter.
This said, it is good that Kerry does these shows, even with idiots like Harding. He needs to be out there and talk about the issues for people. (I liked his point about less subsidies for big agro-alimentary companies and absentee landlords.). The only way you can make your point is to be out there.

When JK is allowed to talk at all, he makes excellent points, like the ones about the big ag and fossil fuel subsidies. It makes the media nonsense not quite worthwhile, but certainly irrelevant.

3. First question, right out of the barn. Scott Brown |
|
I am beginning to hate Ed Harding. He has been sucking Brown's cock ever since the guy got elected.

Anyone who watched both the online and broadcast versions -- is the online complete, do you think?

6. Pop quiz questions about potential republican candidates for 12? |
|
Kill me now. His discussion about the protests in the middle east and the impact on us, and the domestic budget 'crisis' were intelligent and well thought out. I don't remember the woman interviewer's name, but she did a great job on that. Ed Harding should go back to lovin' on Scotty. He is better at that than at serious interviews.

You could tell that JK was talking to her through most of the interview while Ed Harding played with his, uh, pen.

I was beside myself during the first few minutes. :banghead: But Janet saved what could have been another Harding trainwreck. The interview made me wish once again that JK had won in 04.

He has not only the command of the issues, but also the big-picture view and, yes, the gravitas to know what should be done.

I looked like Sarah Palin. And nobody wants to see my reaction to that.
Seriously, as horrible and abysmal as that all was, I'm so glad JK did the show. He looked like the only grownup in the room, and his answers really underscored how totally shallow most of the questions were. All without looking like a dick, which was a serious feat, given the circumstances :)
*What IS his name? Like, Ryan Rhinestone or something? I never hear it correctly.

I am constantly amazed by the number of people who seem to hold well-paying, prominent jobs despite the fact that they are complete idiots, or selfish , hypocritical ____ holes, or all of the above. I'm amazed and grateful that Sen. Kerry has managed to survive this perennial nonsense and keep working to make the country and the world a better place.

17. Agreed, and I think it's more than surviving. |

Sen. Kerry said at the Young Dems meeting in October that "the media is out of control." He was referring to coverage of Tea Party candidates, and the apparent desire to turn politics into a giant high school prom scenario. (My interpretation; the Senator did not specifically mention prom.)
It's so great to see him fighting that mentality in every interview he does. And although the questions were pretty (deliberately?) insulting, I'm not terribly sorry they were asked. It gave him a great opportunity to rise above the BS.
BTW, I think he really reinforced his coolness and maturity with his response to the effigy question. (Which was not actually a bad question.) He was able to present himself as someone with a lot of wisdom and perspective. I couldn't help trying to imagine a Republican response to the same question.
