    | Bon jour, just returned from 2 wks in France, finally getting ears around French |

    | |
I can finally start to understand the sounds of spoken French. Reading it is easier due to 4 yrs of highschool Latin, but hearing it has been difficult. BUT I can finally catch on some and am grateful to my CD's I listen to while driving around.
I discovered the city of Detroit, Michigan is pronounced "De troit" when checking in at CDG. I never noticed what the name really was. Opened my eyes to how much language crossing there is in this country.

And those tourists! It is nice they say bonjour, too bad they say "bone joor". Oh well, nice of them to be polite and open enough to do that.

Thank you for listening to my Francophone updates.

    | 2. Hi uppityperson, you should post a trip report in the Travel group |

    | | We are starved for news in that forum. I envy your trip. We were to have gone to France again this year but foot problems have prevented it. Do tell us where you went and what you did. Merci et Bon Jour!
