2. PETA does some really good things but they always make me think
that their leadership would benefit from tempering their passion with some social common sense. :(

3. Exactly.
I don't even mind them being shocking or offensive as long as that is directed at the right targets. In cases like this it's just comes across as blind flailing about trying to score some points off a group that isn't really deserving of the attack at all. When they skewer the right people they can be worthwhile, but this isn't an example of it.
