Need some long, soothing music |
|
Hi,
So much going on in our lives. Family being torn apart, but we're working to keep it together. I may talk about it later. Currently, I listen to Symphony station on XM. I like that there are no lyrics, only music I can lose myself in. Most of it tends to be very relaxing. There was some choral/choirs this morning when I came into work(I work an overnight shift) and I literally got to work, and sat in my truck, the music just loud enough to drown out any city noise, but not overbearing, and I closed my eyes and just listened, and breathed. It helped a little. It's going to take more than music, but we're working on that.
That said, can anyone here recommend some soothing, calming music I can download to my mp3 player and computer. I need access to it other than my 25 minute commute.
Also, looking into Buddhism and meditation to try and right myself, or start that process.
Thanks in advance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDjE6H5HqWkBecause of the way that it builds in intensity, I find it is also uplifing and stimulating and so can lead into positive mood changes.

2. meditation is very helpful |
|
even just doing what you are doing- taking some time for yourself. i found myself really needing music, getting ferocious earworms. mine were more along the lines of eric clapton and steve earle, tho.
some meditation and acceptance can be very healing. worth working on.
best of luck. keep in touch.

5. Thanks for the responses.... |
|
I will start the downloading immediately.
I will likely start opening up a little in the next few days about what's going on. It's all very overwhelming right now. I assure you I am not thinking about harming myself or others, it's more of a family thing. In other words it's not me, it's them. And I am not intending on blaming.
Thanks for the music notes and I will check back for more,,,,

10. Coming out of a heat wave here. |
|
I've got to get my damn car on the road, put Kid in it and go find some water. The horse boarders have been using the water nonstop so getting a shower or doing laundry or cooking has been impossible. Yesterday I managed to get custody for ten minutes and I hid behind my truck with the hose and Kid pretended not to see me until I got her but good.
That's how we used to plan our camping trips - how far can we drive in one day and still park our butts in a bunch of water before dinner?
lol
You okay? :hi:

wish i had a better answer than that. but i have been gardening my butt off, and that is always good. i'll trade you some of our rain for some of your heat. if we don't get some sun soon, this will all be for naught.
