I'm trying to start an ADHD support group in my |
|
city and I was wondering if anyone had started a support group before? I went to an ADD support group for adults only when I lived in Dallas and it was great. We had a good turnout and often had speakers who kept our attention:D
I have never started a group myself, but I was talking to someone this week who is affected by ADHD in their family and it's taking a toll on her. I think all we need is a place to meet and advertisement. Anyone else have any ideas that would help us get this started? I think the turnout would be great.

1. Believe there is a national organization calld CHADD |

They're on the web. While you may not want to join them, they may have some ideas you can crib.
Churches often allow support groups to meet in their facilities. The churches I know of don't proselytize (besides, you're there after hours) so you shouldn't have to worry about any members getting offended.

your area, maybe they can give you some referrals.
Good luck! Sounds like a great idea.
