This has happened a few times now - get panicky, take meds, calm down 80%, but with a nasty headache.
Calling the doctor tomorrow, but not sure if this is a normal side effect, and my PDR isn't being very helpful.

But probably not how you think it does.
It can change your optic pressure (pressure in your eyes), and the eyestrain from the vision change can give you a headache.
I think Xanax has a half-life of 8 hours, so even if you take it at night, it can screw you up in the morning, and the eyestrain can generate headaches.
Your headache COULD also be from something else, but this is meant to say that there's at least ONE way to get headaches from Xanax. Of course, don't come to DU, go see a Doctor....

2. I take nirvaram - no headaches |
|
How often do you take your xanax. I'm confused as to how often to take my nirvaram.

I was taking it daily when the panic attacks were bad, but they've tapered off as my body has accepted the lexapro/welbutrin combo.
I'm still having headaches, but they may be unrelated -- an image of my sinuses was not pretty.

3. Xanax has a very good record of relieving anxiety -- however, |
|
every time I take just a small amount (sometimes nightly), I go down to the refrigerator and eat anything I can get my hand on. But no headaches!
Your mileage may (and probably does) vary.

5. That has not been a problem.... |
|
In fact, I'm losing the extra pounds I'd gained now that I'm not anxious all the time. I wasn't eating properly before, so my body was hanging on to every calorie it got, and thus, I was gaining 14 pounds after 500 calories of lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. (Not quite literally...)
I've dropped almost 10 pounds since I started medications, so I'm not complaining...
And I am eating more. It's like my metabolism got a kick in the pants somehow.
