What are the minimum dosages of Klonopin and Ativan given to patients? |
|
Just curious...
I take one little yellow tablet of Klonopin in the event of a panic attack... but the vial is locked up at work and I can't remember the dosage.
Thx!

Klonopin- initial recommended dose is .25 mg. recommended daily dose 1 mg.
Ativan- all I found was that the recommended daily dose is 2-3 mg.

5. Ativan also comes sublingual |
|
in 1 mg. doses. since the sublingual absorbs much more quickly, it's a better method for dealing with panic attacks, IMO.
The difference between Ativan and Klonopin is that the latter has twice as long a half life- and so stays in your system much longer. this can be an issue if you need to drive or if you have difficulty getting up in the morning.

6. Klonopin comes in a .5 mg. tablet |
|
which has a demarcation for splitting in half, if needed.
