I've recently quit antidepressants due to my prostate(surgery upcoming) but have been quite weepy lately as I contemplate putting down my 12 year old dog pharaoh.
My sister the nurse thought this might be a good drug for me,
although part off me would just like to try and deal with the world without the drugs.........this is often difficult as it becomes ever more apparent when one goes off anti depressants that the world is seriously fucked up!
any encouragement would be appreciatedO8)

I used it a few years back but not sure of the dosage. It worked great for me and I noticed no side effects. If you ask for it they will probably steer you towards Lexapro but if you're not in bad shape I think this is a better (and milder) product. Best of luck.

I felt my usual winter depression coming on and decided not to do it again this year. I have a very stressful job, and I'm going through peri-menopause, so I have issues with anxiety and stress. I really, REALLY like this. It keeps me calm. I was on Lexapro for 3 months back in 2003 after Howard Dean lost the primaries (sounds silly, I know...), and it helped, but I felt disconnected and couldn't really 'feel'. Celexa isn't like that. I can still feel and enjoy life - I don't feel like a zombie. Now the bad part - I'm tired a lot, and like my sleep these days, but this could also have to do with winter. I am one of those people who probably has the instinct to hibernate this time of year. All in all, it is a mild anti-depressant, but it's helped me tremendously. I don't feel like I'm nearly as much as an asshole as I was before, because I don't feel that tension all the time like I used to. So there you go. :) Good luck, with whatever you decide!
