She wants me to take a break...
And I don't want to go into the hospital. I just want to live and contribute and have my cozy little life. What is wrong with that? I'm not asking for much!

Meds screw with your brain. And it's either the devil you had (sans meds) or the devil you have (avec meds), and sometime neither give you the solution you want.
Hang in there. At a minimum, find something that keeps you operational. From that base, find something that lets you succeed in the places/areas that you want to succeed in.

and did not consider the possibility the new drug was destabilizing me.
I've gone off the new one since and I'm my feeling better.
I don't think mood stabilizers are the solution. :(
