What a blessing. Free samples! |
|
I went to my usual 3 month check up with my psychiatrist today. I asked him if there were any generics for the meds that I have to take. I explained to him that my insurance sucks right now and will only cover $50 of the $500 it costs to keep me sane each month. Bastards. Anyway, I'm going to get better insurance in a couple of months, but until then I have to pick up that cost. That's when he said, "No problem. I'll give you some free samples." That thought had never crossed my mind. He turned me on to enough free samples of Geodon, the most expensive of my meds, to cover me for a month. What a blessing. I wonder what percentage of shrinks are liberals.

1. i'm glad to see samples used this way. |

sometimes they are parceled out to get someone on a drug, knowing that one months worth is going to turn into a lifetime. whether they are good drugs, or not. my last gp got a free trip every year from the drug rep. every sneeze got a sample. every itch got a sample. docs as salesmen, yuck. glad your doc is taking care of you.

2. Yes! One of my docs used to do that for my anxiety meds. |

He was such a good guy. "Beth, see this box says I can't resell or give away these meds."
So he took them out of the box. Thanks, Dr. C! I really needed your help.
