| I just had the nicest night I could possibly want. |
|
My brother and my oldest son came over to my place at six and the three of us went out to dinner.
We've never done that before and I have no idea why.
I could have just sat on the sidewalk and talked with them and been happy, lol, but they took me to a fancy restaurant where I got to wrestle a roasted crab and then we went into the Haight (Ashbury district) for coffee.
Aside from the fact that I adore them and never get to spend much time with them, the whole night made me feel more like me and less like debris. And, we also planned Christmas dinner so Christmas dinner wouldn't plan us. I'm cooking, they have to call in with the numbers. Okay. More than I thought I'd be doing. Cool. :P
Good guys. My brother is on the last leg of a divorce with three girls under 12 and my son just went through a break up of a two year relationship. In the sea of seasonal weirdness, a nice night in good company. Thank you, Something.

| 3. Everyone is so busy in my generation and in the next one. |
|
My family used to get together every Sunday afternoon and have dinner. All thirty of us! After my grandmother died, that changed. My kids didn't really have that experience very often where for my brother and myself, that was normal.
I miss those family dinners -- messy, sometimes irritating, loud and wonderful family dinners.

I'm spending a bit more time with my parents, it took , my mom going in for a knee replacement, and dad has alzheimers so someone had to watch him, sometimes these crises are just meant to bring us closer together, when the chips are down lets hope we can count on family. O8)

| 4. I don't know what I'd do without them. They are my favorite people. |

That's so cool that you can help your parents out. It's really amazing when your kids do something like that. Renews your faith in human beans.
