Anyone ever go to the ER for a prescription?

I have severe ADD and I've been taking Ritalin for 10 years. But I recently moved back to Miami and enrolled in this cheap insurance, which gave me a primary physician who refuses to write me a prescription until I see a psychiatrist in their plan, which takes several weeks. I have medical records that indicate I have been taking Ritalin, but this doctor is an asshole.
Meanwhile, I've been extremely irritable, depressed and unable to focus because I'm off my meds. The doctor suggested I go to the ER, but I know they won't accept my crappy insurance and I probably will be forced to pay several hundred dollars.
Or will I?

what do have to do move to Guam or something to get some decent medical care ? Somebody has to start calling these scum bags out on this stuff,start writing names down, this gets thier attention. We have to get our country back from these neocon bastards.

2. If you go to the ER where I live

It will cost you about $400 without insurance. But let me tell you, if your insurance company won't cover an emergency room visit it's time to get a different insurance company.

Your doctor has his/her head up his/her ass. Primary care physicians can write a prescription for anything and seeing as how you've got proof that you have the illness and have been treated for it for a long time, there shouldn't be a problem. I have a problem with a primary care physician trying to diagnose a mental illness and then writing prescriptions for what they think is the problem, but I don't see a problem with a patient who has a history of an illness. You are needlessly suffering.

3. My primary care physician and neurosurgeon fought for six weeks...

...over who was supposed to fill my prednisone Rx. I needed it to reduce inflamation in my neck. I was in lots of pain and they kept fighting over it.

Stupid system. :(
