As if everything else in my life (the family craziness and my own health issues/depression) weren't bad enough, yesterday I found out that the company which was holding my place after 2 months of unpaid leave, decided they don't need me anymore and thus I no lonager have a job. My financial situation is gettting tight so I can't even afford to get anti depressants at this point really. Thank goodness for purr therapy (my cats) or else it would be REALLY bad. At least the temp agency is looking for a new position but the new stress also started making me feel sick again. Caught in a vicious cycle here it seems.:cry:

2. I would like your opinion on something here

I have an interview for two possible jobs (I am a lab technician) with one company. One is a normal lab tech postion okay fine. The other is for STAFF SCIENTIST. Usually its PhD's or Master's (neither of which I have--I have a BS with oodles (10 yrs) of lab experience. It sounds like an awesome job. However to even apply for it I have to -gulp- give a presentation!!! I have never done that before in my jobs let alone for an interview. Its really flattering that I am even being considered for it..but I have to make a decision before I talk to the company (probably tomorrow) Considering all I have been through I don't know if I would be able to do that but its such a good position...:dilemma:

5. Giving a presentation is just talkinig to people who are listening.

That's ALL it is. They can't smack you or talk back or turn cartwheels while you're talking. They HAVE to listen. It's sort of cool.

3. Go to the Wal-Mart web site. There is a whole list of

anti-depressants that they sell for $4.00. If your prescription is not there, bring a copy of the list to your doctor and let him take a look. Perhaps there is something similar that will help you. I get generic Celexa for $4.00 and it has been a lifesaver for me.

Too many docs start you out on some expensive new drug that's been hyped by the pharm reps when there's an inexpensive generic that would work about as well.

There are a few meds I've had to discontinue, or have never started, because they are simply too expensive.

It's always better to have something that works well enough and is affordable, than something that may or may not work better, but will turn out to be unaffordable... especially psych medicines which you can't stop taking just because you don't have enough money to refill the prescription.

A lot of doctors have no idea the relative costs of medicines. Your example, Celexa is a good one. It's heavily advertised relative, Lexapro, is going to be the one most doctors think about first because the pharm reps have told them how wonderful it is, and handed out samples to them. But that generic Celexa may work as well for you and cost a lot less.

8. I'm getting generic Celexa for $5 a month from the Costco Pharmacy.

You can order online and they have free shipping. Unlike Walmart, which has a very limited list of $4 scripts, Costco seems to have rock bottom prices on everything.

Definitely try to get switched to a med that's available in a generic if you're currently taking a name brand. You'll save oodles and oodles.

9. Damn, that sucks...

are there any community mental health centers that you could go to that could help with meds? Or would you qualify for a pharma manufacturer prescription assistance? There is help for people who need meds.
