| Damn. Hospitalized again. |
|
...for the second time in almost as many months. Long story short, the "new" meds did not work, and I got worse, and my medical safety net fell apart when my psych doc went on a month-long medical leave. To add insult to injury, I had to wait almost a week to get a bed at the hospital due to the f-cked up psych bed situation in this state. I'm also out of FMLA time and may lose my job because of this latest protracted episode.
I've been in an inpatient mood disorder unit now for the past week. The psychdoc here has taken me off the Geodon and Trileptal, put me back on lithium and started me on another anti-depressent, which seemed to be the winning combination in the past. It's only been a few days but things seem to be getting better already. I also got a 2nd opinion from another endocrinologist who doesn't think I have thyroid/pituitary issues, so I've kicked those meds too. That's one less complication to the equation.
Now I just hope I can pull my shit together enough to get back to work and live on my own again.
Just wanted to vent. Hope everyone is doing okay.

hang in there friend. i find that things may seem really daunting when they are first on the horizon, but if they have to be done, somehow, when we get right up on them, they get done. i guess it doesn't always work, but i never seem to be able to tell ahead of time which will and which wont. sometimes the most unlikely things work out, and the simplest fall through. you just have to trudge on, and do your best. vent on. we are here.

| 2. I hope the winning combo of meds works again. |

I'm switching meds at the moment from Seroquel to Ambilify. They have me on both (but luckily I got a month free samples of the Ambilify)and I'm hoping it works. I think I'm running out of meds to try. I'm glad you are off the thyroid meds... those pills are a pain in the butt.
Are you back in the same hospital that you were before? I know that you liked it there.
*hugs*
There is an out to this cycle... you just have to keep trying. I have been hospital free since April of 2006. I was in a bad cycle, and for me, moving to Florida did the trick :). You just have to find your thing.

Everything in the body is connected to everything else, so it's hard to track down the right medicines. I'm glad things seem to be going on the right track for you now.
