I've been dealing with decapacitating back pain for about a week. I can't do anything. It's a win if I manage to be get into and out of a chair. Going to a doc soon, I hope.
But, it's funny because the pain makes you sort of hyper aware of things. And, grateful, too, for little things like being able to dress yourself or being able to navigate the stairs or being able to carry your groceries home.
I've no idea what this is and sure didn't see it coming. At some point, the stuff life throws at you is just more stuff and nothing to bring out the good linen for.

1. is it lower back pain? could it be kidney issues? or is it muscle spasms? pain sucks |

big time
I have learned that my rice sock and a hot bath are my best friends when it comes to pain. Some people alternate heat and ice.
I have also found pressure points on the bottom of my foot near the arch, that when worked can cut my pain in half and reduce the spasming in my upper back. Play around with different spots until you find the ones that bring relief. I also work forearms, palms and inner calfs to reduce pain and muscle tension.
Hopefully you just pulled/strained a muscle and it is not anything chronic.

2. You do need to have a doc look at your backpain, Beth. |

And I agree with fed-up - warm rice socks, baths and showers are my friends lately with back, neck and shoulder pains.

3. Our health care system here is so messed up. |

Dealing with it is like taking on another job. But, yes, I need to be seen by a doctor.
