Just got a job rejection letter in the mail. |
|
Not that I was expecting them to see me as the answer to their prayers, or that they greeted my resume with cheers and huzzahs, or anything...but still. On some level it hurts. I'm trying to think postively, but there is really nothing so edifying or affirming as reading, "You were not selected for an interview." Geez...howzabout wording it like this, "Your skills don't match our current needs" or something...?
Like I said, I'm trying to keep a positive focus here, but damn, it still stings. Especially when I'm stuck in a job that is killing me on so many levels.

1. Wish you the best in your job search! |

I've been where you are ... a job that sucks the life out of you. For a positive focus, think of it this way: You are one "no" closer to the "yes" you need. Sometimes it really is just a numbers game.
How long have you been working in the job-from-hell?
Best of luck ...
- Phrig :)

We've had an upper management change that was extremely bad -- morale has been in the shitter forever...We're being asked to do more with less, and the job is just stressful in and of itself. I used to like (and believe in) what I do, but with every passing day it's getting harder.
I'm trying to get back into the field from where I came -- editing.
I'm telling myself that the job was basically a shot in the dark anyway, and even if I DID get it, it would take a lot of logistical sleight-of-hand to make it work. (It would require relocation.) But still, nothing like getting your mail and being told, "thanks, but no."
I'll be okay. I'm just in a bad spot right now.

3. It may not be you, just the market |
|
we recently hired and had 6 interview openings. There were 12 people who we normally would have loved to interview. And of the 6 we interviewed, we would have been happy to have 4 of them working with us. And of the other two, there was one who would be perfect for another job--which isn't currently open in our office.
I am so glad, that I'm not looking for work. But pleas know, it is not you!
