Aren't the students working on wandless charms? I vaguely recall some discussion of it: that students weren't able to not talk at all.

But yes, there are wandless charms...They were talking about how the prisoners in Azkaban could eventually break out even without a wand. I believe Dumbledor did stuff without a wand a few times... Duckie

Yes, that's true, good point.
I also thought broom-riding is a non-wand activity. Although perhaps brooms are mad to fly because of wand action at the factory.
