Hey, this just goes to show how both 'Star Wars' and the Harry Potter saga are both classic examples of what is known as 'The Hero's Journey'. I believe the famous scholar of folklore Joseph Campbell codified this concept in his writings. It's the backbone of most, if not all, fantasy fiction, and a lot of general fiction as well.
