When faced with some family event |
|
that I don't feel I can avoid, then I develop what I call a stress headache because it begins with a tightness in the back of the neck and lasts until the event is over and I can return to solitude.

1. Take a couple of Aleves or Tylenol before you go. That helps with the |
|
muscle tension, which is what is most likely causing your headaches. Also, in big family gatherings, try to pick a person or two to hang out with and travel in a "pack" with. It's a lot easier to socialize if it's your "pack" that socializes and not just you by yourself. You can give yourself time to coast mentally when you are in the pack. Try it!

2. Good advice, but I was just the Mother of the Bride!!! |

Joking (kind of.) Just happened upon this thread, and thought I'd say hi.
Big wedding Friday. Noisy 40 person rehearsal dinner Thursday and 200 person wedding, aching feet (no headache) (even w broken-in shoes!) confirmed if there had been any doubt that I am just NOT a party animal! My daughters, on the other hand, ARE! Well, I survived and everyone appeared to have enjoyed themselves.
:hi:

3. HA! Been there and done that myself. In your case, you just have |
|
to endure, knowing it will soon be over!
