I think I've found the most infuriating search word for Google - KEP |
|
It's KEP (w/a long e mark - don't know how to do it on my keyboard) Professional Cleaner. My landlord let me try some in a spray bottle last week-end, & it's fabulous on our 'teenage-boy-manhandled' walls!
Trying to google to find a source (landlord is out of town incommunicado for the next month) & everyone on the net apparently misspells keep = kep. Alot!
Anyone know of this product? The manufacturer or a reseller?
It's not every day that I'm in a wall scrubbing mood - I suspect it won't last for a month! :dilemma:

They're super concentrated and I expect the half gallon I got to last me the rest of my life.
Mixed with water, it's a substitute for any cleaner/degreaser like Fantastik or 409.
Used full strength, it'll remove paint.

4. Ahhh ... that sounds like the stuff - |
|
"Used full strength, it'll remove paint."
That's what the landlord said @ it - he uses it to prep when he repaints.
He let me put some in my spray bottle & I mixed w/water. With 4 cats & a teenage boy in the house, this stuff passed the ultimate test! I've used the 409 & others, but they required a whole lot more 'elbow grease' than my mystery solution. My walls & doors almost look freshly painted, & I'm a housekeeper - so I WILL get the super size (as soon as I track the lost landlord down to be sure of the brand! LOL!). This could make my workday a lot less grueling! My boy isn't happy though, his room is next on the list. And he's gonna be the official wallwasher (the boy will learn to wash them grubby hands once in a while if he has to clean off some of the aftereffects - I hope).
Thanks all! I appreciate it!

5. I'm gonna check Home Depot tomorrow - I think I'll recognize the label. |
|
But then again, I didn't think it necessary to write down a simple 3-letter name (doh!). 'Industrial type' is what he said it was, so hopefully I'll get it right this time. I'll wait to invest in a super size purchase 'till I can track the man down, though.
I have never had such a frustrating, useless google search as the 'Kep' one - I couldn't believe the number of hits! Most of were misspellings (ignoring my own - LOL!) like :
Kep on trucking I kep hearing a burglar Kep me in your thoughts
And alot of businesses w/the name Kep. All in search of a product I wasn't even sure of - pffft!
TY for the tip!

8. Woo hoo! I got ahold of his girlfriend & got her to go look in his garage. |
|
It's called 'Zep Industrial Purple' & I got some at Home Depot today (8 bucks for a gallon). Come to find out, my dear landlord mixes his in a stray spray bottle labeled 'Kep' that he bought for spray jobs - he neglected to mention that little factoid! I'm guilty of mixing stuff in loose bottles myself, so I can't laugh at him much! But I do label mine w/a permanent marker so I don't forget what's in it - got it ready to go (diluted) for tomorrows' housekeeping job & my walls are targeted for this week-end. Maybe my house will look as nice & clean as my customers, for a change! I'm usually so beat-up-tired when I get home that my house doesn't get a turn (like the mechanic who never gets around to working on the wifes' car?) - so I'm hoping this will be the time/energy saver I think it will be!
The girlfriend is such a sweetie - she didn't even bat an eye at my request!
Thanks for the aid DUers, yet again!
