i have a lot of scrap laminate flooring. suggestions on re-uses for

how weather proof do you think it'll be. wonder if I can use it outside for trimming out planters and such?

1. It is completely NOT weatherproof.

In the first rain, the substrate will swell up like a hammered thumb. It is only pressed board.

Don't burn it either. It has waaaaay too many bad substances (all inert and safe in normal use) in it.

3. Line the floors of cabinets?

I used extra vinyl tiles to line the floors of my kitchen and ethroom sink cabinets. This protects them from the cleaning stuff.

You could also do the floors of a closet.

5. I have some wire shelving in the garage...

...and I cut pieces of particleboard to fit as shelf liners. Flooring would work just as well, I'd think.

7. We used it instead of baseboard around the cabinets.

I didn't like the way the baseboards looked against the cabinets in the kitchen and bath, so I used the scrap laminate instead, nailing and sealing it flush with the floor. We used clear caulk to seal against the floor.

8. was gonna suggest using it to cover an ugly

clip board, or plastic trays- etc. sanded edges and a nice poly-urethane top coat would make some classy home made gifts- or maybe cover some sturdy cardboard boxes and used them as 'gift boxes'??
