| Composting decorative punkins, gourds, etc. |
|
Has anyone ever done this? I don't "decorate for Halloween/Thanksgiving" much simply because it offends my cheapskateness to buy all those punkins, gourds, corn stalks, etc., and then just toss them. OTOH, composting them seems like a long-term proposition, especially the corn cobs, etc.
Please share fall holiday decorating materials composting experience/advice if you have it!

| 1. did you ask over in the Gardening Group Bright? but I should think |

it would be fine in your compost pile
course I don't compost yet (but it's on Mr. K's list to build mine-we had the old owners leave us 7 pallets to use for two bins)
I'll be interested to hear the responses :hi:

| 3. I have only composted the pumpkins. |

They compost fairly quickly. The corn stalks and cobs should compost but would try to chop them into small pieces to speed the process up a bit.
