| What to put over a big screen teevee in a corner??? |
|
I'm fresh out of ideas and my brain is stuck, seemingly incapable of producing ideas.
We just bought a 42" teevee. It is on a stand. The very top of the teevee is about 42" (coincidentally) above the floor.
In the past we had our teevee in an art deco armoire that was about 40" wide and 6 feet plus tall.
In both cases, the teevee sat diagonally in a corner.
With the tall piece, there was no issue. The piece itself filled to corner comfortably.
Now, with the new low, and fully open based, stand and teevee, the wall corner above it looks blank. It could easily be that we're just not used to the wall being visible. It could also be that it needs something.
If you had a blank corner wall, what would you do with it?

a couple things we've done is to hang a silk plant (you don't want a real one cuz of the water issues) or if it's a dark corner maybe get a folding screen and fold it 'around' the corner or a hanging lamp
Mr. K says you don't really want to accentuate the corner too much or it will make the TV look like it's even bigger and further into the room
edit to add, we have always just placed our art like the TV wasn't there taking the wall as a whole...

Look for a really nice mobile to hang from the ceiling above it. We had a corner-type arrangement once and got a hand-carved and painted wooden mobile of stars, suns, planets, comets, etc. and hung it over the teevee.
helpfully, Bright

| 4. The hard part seems to be getting the damned HDTV to work right |
|
The cable company's been and gone. The HDTV worked then it didn't. Right now I have a very expensive standard teevee monitor with a lot of unused teevee screen real estate.
As to the corner of the room ...... we may leave it like it is (empty) for a while, and then reevaluate.
