I don't have a serger, but I do zig zag all of the seams after I sew the pieces together..the unhemmed seams just don't last. Thanks

that you can apply to the edges of material that will stop it from fraying. Quicker than adding binding and you can still do a finished edge after your seams are in place.
Sergers aren't all that expensive any more. If you do a lot of sewing, you owe it to yourself to get one. It makes life SO much easier.
