really, is there anything better??? My husband and i installed slate in our master bathroom with some tumbled marble accents and we set it on the diagonal and we couldn't believe that we did it because it actually looks good.

5. The floor, we bought the house new so there was carpet(yuck) in the

wet areas, we ripped up the carpet and installed the slate and marble. We invested in a wet saw, it was worth the $300 because we still had another bathroom to do, all in all it took about 3 full days to do. I'll try and take a picture of it this week and post it for you. Pink formica....i bet at the time it was tres chic'...no?

11. Do it!

It will look great, especially now that they have the matching bull-nosed edging. Just make sure your grout lines are thin and the color (of the grout) matches the granite. It also looks really sharp when the granite tiles are taken up to the bottom of your upper cabinets.

We are just finishing a 900 sq. ft. floor tiling project. Yep, that's 900 sq. ft.--never again!

(We purchased a wet saw for less than $100 and it has seen us through our kitchen, a bathroom, and the above project.)

BTW, your new range hood looks great!

i did 900 sf of peel and stick laminate flooring and that was nightmare enough

i have so many projects that need to get done, but the formica has really got to go lol

The new one looks great. We installed a stainless steel range hood about three years ago. It wasn't that difficult and it looks better than the old junker did.

8. it's amazing you spend a ton on new applicances and leave a 20

year old nasty greasy hood over the shiny new stove

i got this one from a local store that advertises on AirAmerica here and payed $30 bucks for it since he had it installed as a floor model

but the low end ones still only run 40 or 50 bucks for a fresh look

i'm very pleased
