We bought our Sony flat screen TV about 3 years ago. We have basic cable - no box. The cable is connected directly to the back of the TV. It's a basic model, not able to connect surround sound, etc.
How do we find out if we need to buy a box for next year's digital change? I'm so confused....

1. My understanding is that the only people who will need coverters or new TVs |
|
are those who have analog TVs AND get their broadcasts via an antenna. If you have cable OR you have a digital TV, you will be fine. Here's an article that explains it: http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/consumersmarts/archives/122960.asp

There is NO change to the way cable gets delivered. Longhorn's comments are spot on.

5. The only change is if you have satellite |
|
and want to upgrade to an HD box for that particular TV.
My eyes aint that good, so I'm still watching analog on my HD capable flat screen.
