As I try to learn to eat better, I've "discovered"
1. Air-popped popcorn sprayed with "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray. 2. Lowfat smoothies, either that I make or commercially prepared. 3. Bananas. 4. Graham crackers, except it's too easy to overdo! 5. Kashi cereal mixed with lowfat vanilla yogurt. 6. Blue Bunny ice cream bars (no sugar added, sweetened with Splenda.) 7. Toasted English muffins or a toasted slice of homemade whole wheat bread and low-sugar jam. 8. Pita pocket with hummus and sliced veggies or pita flatbread dipped with hummus.
Other ideas?

but I eat dry whole grain cereal as a snack, either honey nut generic Cheerios or puffed wheat.
I've never been able to cope with the stuff as a breakfast item because I'm dreadfully lactose intolerant and I can't stand milk as a beverage (too many memories of chronic diarrhea from it in the 50s) or poured over cereal, something that extends to the soy milk I use in cooking.

That's the second time I posted in the wrong group! I was wondering why no one responded -- thought maybe I'm the only one who snacks! It must have been that butcher block conversation going on in both places. ;)
Thanks!
