| What are the flappers on a swimming pool called? |
|
This may not be the right place, but I hope you guys can help.
I'm writing a story with a scene in a swimming pool. You know those flappers on the side that slap when the water gets stirred up. What are they called?
TIA

| 1. Are you talking about the skimmers? |
|
The water is drawn in and skims the leaves and debris off the top?

I meant the door over it that flaps. Flapper door will work.
Thanks.

I think I'll use flapper door. I don't want readers sitting and thinking "what's a skimmer weir?"
