Looking for a picture hanging gizmo or |
|
a 'fool proof' ;) method to hang several pictures evenly. I would like to hang a group of 4 (2)top (2) below and also a group of three horizontal.
Need to add wire to the back and they'll be ready to hang the problem is how to get them perfectly straight across the top. I vaguely remember seeing something in one of the hobby stores a device of some sort to hang pictures. Anyone know about this?
How do you hang pictures to they're perfectly lined up when hanging them in groups of 2 or more? I'm pulling my hair out here :dunce:

2. I'm ok as far as how to attach the wire |

to the frame. All I have to do it cut a piece of wire and attach it to the metal loops already attached to the frame. The problem is how to get the frames to line up evenly on the wall. The wire no matter how you cut it will always be a little off in length - I want the top of both pictures to be the same height like this:
____ ____ top
____ ____ bottom
I can't remember where I saw a device that resembled a T square that was used to hold the picture against the wall and allowed one to mark where the nail should go. And you're right - trying to 'splain this stuff in writing sucks LOL. :hi:

3. There is a picture hanging kit |
|
With a level included With little holes to mark where to put the hangers into the wall. About $15.00 You simply fallow the directions!
Are your picture frames different sizes? OK so, picK the spot than hang the first one. By the way have you ever shot a Lazar line across a wall? ! And do you have a good tape measure ? !
I got all kinds of words, no problem! Same size frames or different sizes?

4. The frames are identical |

I'm going to find that wall hanger kit. The problem is not being able to get the wire on the back of these pictures 'exactly' the same length on both. This causes the picture to be just slightly off, instead of perfectly straight ______ ______ across the top. I should just hang one lower than the other and call it a day but, I'm a masochist

Use a tape measure to put the wire on. Make little penile point marks on the back of the frame where eye hooks go ! With the tape measure all frames ,same same ! You know, say 4 inch's or what ever. The wire. Ok ,so pull up on that and measure. Say there is one inch difference in the wire between one frame and another. Raise the hook on the wall one inch!Or lower it depending on the up or down direction of the difference. The picture frames hang Same same! It's about knowing how to use that tape measure. A level is cool too! You might have to change the position of the hanging hook a few times, so what! What's a few extra holes in the wall where perfect is of a cause ! A little spackle and a damp rag and nobody will know. And the holes are behind the pictures anyway, right? And don't forget to measure where the first hanging hook is on the wall. It's perfectly OK to eye ball the first one ,but you must measure ,you can use the ceiling or the floor! You ever shoot a Lazar line!
Good luck and stay with it .

6. I saw a trick on HGTV this weekend |
|
Take a paint stir stick. Put a screw through one end so both the head and point protrude on either side. Hang your picture wire on the screw head. Holding the top of the stir stick, place your picture on the wall where you want it. Lightly push the picture against the wall so the point of the screw makes a slight indentation in the wall. That is where you want to nail.
