sawdust and sticky things. NOT a match made in heaven, and yet- |
|
the folks that make detail sanders don't seem to have anything else to go on. trying to get these papers to stick is a nightmare. obviously the key would be to clean the pad with something, but so far my attempts to do so have been mixed. tack cloth- no, mineral spirits (which happened to be handy)- the first time, yes, after that, no. next up, some alcohol. also thinking that a short time application of duck tape might pull the dust off and leave a little sticky behind.
so, anyone have any tried and try tricks, or even crazy ideas that just might work?

1. My husband used to use double stick tape on his palm sander. |
|
The triangles of paper never stuck to the sander pad. One day he decided that this was a waste of time and put the tape on the sandpaper and on the sander pad. Worked like a charm. Never again had trouble.
Double stick tape saves a lot of headaches on other sticky chores too.
