Hallogen light bulbs in track lighting in kitchen.

I can't remove the burned out suckers! There's no room between the bulb and the casing for my fingers. So I went to Lowes and asked some guy. He told the cheapest and fastest way to go about it was to go to Petsmart and buy a suction cup from the aquarium department, which I did. (I know this is bizarre. But I really thought it would work!)

The suction cup didn't work.

I'm solo here and can service my swamp cooler, get the furnace ready to go in winter, fix locks, and a lot of other things--and now I can't even replace light bulbs?!

Help, please!

1. Mine take a REALLY light touch.

It's counter intuitive but you have to use a really light touch - just enough push up to relieve the pressure of the thread against thread and not too much pressure to cause the threads to grind to a halt.

It' hard to explain but I use the tips of my finger to turn the lights ever so gently. Almost like a safe-cracker.

2. These things are plug-ins, right?

I looked at them at Lowes and figured out that they had to be moved to the left or the right just barely before they'd fall out.

I'm having a tough time with this, but I'll take your advice and see what happens. TNX!

3. The "trick" works for both small screw in lights and the two posts lights. See below.

The two post lights "grind" against the ceramic in the sockets if you push up too hard. These two post lights require you to push up ever so gently and turn very slightly - about and 1/8th of a turn - i think to the left.
