How to make Yahoo and Google searches find my site? |
|
Does anyone know of any method to make web searches find a website?
I've included key words in the META NAME tag like so:
<META name="description" content="search term here"> <META name="keywords" content="search term1, search term2, search term3">
However, if the site shows up at all in the search results, its way, way at the end.
Any magic to this?
thanks for any info!

1. A few things I've learned... |
|
1. Put lots of the keywords in the title of the site 2. Google generally puts all new domains in the "sandbox" for 6-8 months, nothing you can do but wait and in the meantime 3. Get other sites to link to you during that time 4. Don't engage in any kind of "Black Hat" search engine optimization tactics like using hidden text or anything like that 5. Don't use domain forwarding
Those are the top five things I can think of personally. What's your website? I've got a few directories, there's bound to be a place for me to put your link.
Peace!

you did SUBMIT your site to each of these search engines right? I know I was ranked 5-6 days after submitting my wedding site no problem.
