Free calendars to post on a website?

I have been using Google's calendar to post the schedule of the animal shelter I volunteer with on their website. I used the code Google generated to embed the calendar in our page. It works fine for me, but recently I have gotten a couple complaints that it often doesn't load properly for people. Does anyone know if there are any other free calendar out there which is at all comparable to Google calendar as far as ease of use, ability to add details, recurring events, etc?
